HEY EVERYONE!!!! I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!









my family and i also went to Freycinet National Park which is a 2 and 1/2 hour drive from Hobart. We went by bus and had to change buses even! but it was worth the ride coz the park is fantastic. apparently its so crowded in summer that ppl have to book and ballot for spots to camp. the driver who took us there also said that for the past few years, the same few families have been constantly getting the camping spots they asked for. hmmm... i guess sometimes, "its not what you know, but WHO you know." to quote the driver.

the were a lot of trails but since my family and i did'nt have a lot of time, we chose the half hour walk to the lookout point at The Hazards mountains that allows us to view Wineglass Bay, which is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

the picture above shows the walk up to the lookout point. it was like climbing bukit timah lah... A LOT OF STEPS. but as we went up the ppl who were coming down kept on encouraging us, saying things like, " you're almost there!! haha...don't give up!" very cool.



i tell you, mr chen should organise a geog trip to tasmania. there are a lot of geographical formations, like the one above and the one below. my sister( who's taking geog ) and i went balistic and took like, 100000000 pics of the rocks. i shan't bore you by putting them all here. its endless.












and this, ladies and gentlemen, is Wineglass Bay.


















my mum took a pic of me with the bay as the background, and when she uploads the pics from her cam i'll upload it here. the long trek up was totally worth the view i tell u.






this is a pic of my sisters with some of the rock formations. i like their poses!

we then went to the Friendly Beaches. yes, that is the name of the beach. and u noe wat, we saw ppl SURFING. i wanted to say, " Like, Dudes, its like, winter, duh. its like, COLD? duh."

look at the waves as shown below!!!!!!! no wonder those crazy idiots were surfing. but still, its cold and they could freeze to death.





the next day, we went to Bonorong National Park. we were given animal feed and were allowed to feed the animals except the ones in the cages.





my biggest surprise was the the kangaroos were roaming freely like the peacocks in the singapore zoo. i mean, duh, since there are more kangaroos in austraila than there are people. (betcha did'nt noe that.) and since the kangaroo is practically the national animal. it was nice to come up close and personal with the cute roos!





this really adorable baby kangaroo was playing with its mum and was jumping up and down like sarah on chocolate. it seemed to be saying," Carry me mummy!"





and the next thing i knew...







so cool.

my sis was very very amused by this kangaroo. haha.. guess who's enjoying life?




haha... welcome to resort kangaroo! this guy... shiok only...





this little guy reminds me of shippo, sarah's hamster. except this guy here is not a hamster. he's a Quoll. he SO CUTE.

more pics of kangaroos. when we were walking around, we suddenly saw the whole herd of kangaroos run in one direction. according to the keeper, their leader sensed some sort of danger and started running and the others followed. the pic below was taken when the kangaroos were all gathered together and i zoomed in on this mother and baby.

there were geese there too, but i have no idea for wat reason. they were making lots of noise when we were taking pics of the kangaroos so we figured they wanted some attention too, so we fed them and took pics of them too.








i noe this is mean, but i think i found kong min's cousin, the emu. see pic below.







i tell u, the koalas look exactly like the soft toy ones u see in shops, its so hard to believe you're seeing them in real life. this one below looks like shaz in geog lecture. all squinty-eyed and sleepy. hehe...





a fact abt koalas. they're extremely fussy animals and only eat the tips of the eucalyptus leaves. when i was taking these shots the keeper was changing the leaves. they look brand new, but according to the keeper this koala was already done eating the tips. they drink very little too, and sleep quite a lot. once the koalas are done eating the tips of the leaves, the keeps change fresh leaves and use the old ones as decor in the other animals' enclosures. then after a while they're put under the sun to dry and used as flooring in the animals' enclosures. (like hay)

below here shows some kangaroos basking in the sunlight. eh brothers!! u think this is miami beach ah?









there was one very friendly baby kangaroo. dunno if it was a girl or boy. but it actually let my sister pet it after feeding it. my cam could'nt video coz there was condensation but i took a lot of photos. here is the kangroo.






and this photo below shows my 2 sisters stroking the kangaroo.








wow look at that fat bird! no wait, is it just ONE bird? look carefully. sorry i dunno the name of this bird!





and here, ladies and gents, boys and girls, is the reason y tasmania is called tasmania................... The Tasmanian Devil!!!!! is'nt he cute??? awwwww...


















ya rite he's cute. as if. he can be vicious too, if he wants to.





in this demonstration, the keeper fed the devil some meat( i shall not specify which kind) and showed us that it could actually climb, as shown in this pic below.





and here he is, the nasty little devil, enjoying his meal.







next, we headed for Richmond, which is a town that still retains its colonial looks, back when the british colonised austraila. it looks like a little english town! ( ironic of me saying this, since i've never been to england, but it does give me the feeling of a quaint little english village. like in enid blyton's books.)




we had lunch at the Maze Cafe, and, obviously, as the name suggests, went to try out the maze. there were two mazes and u have to go thru the 1st one to get to the 2nd one. a lollipop was given to the one who managed to get to the centre of the maze where the minotaur was and retreive the password. it was really challenging and my sisters and i did it together. it took some time to reach the centre of the maze. it was 3 o clock when we started. but we were rushing coz after retrieving the password(theseus) my youngest sister needed to go to the toilet. plus we had trouble finding our way out. she was really very urgent. we ended going round and round in circles. my youngest sister then decided to go her own way. we lost her and my other sister and i ended up finding the way back before she did. we called her many times and eventually she had to crawl under the wooden walls of the maze to reach us.


we were rushing also because we were late for the bus that was picking us up at 345. it was 345 when we just exited the maze. my sis raced for the toilet. i was waiting for her, and i so stupidly did not go collect my lollipop while waiting. sigh. anyway, we only made everyone else wait abt 5 mins.






all in all, it was very fun, and while having lunch, the owner of the cafe(and the maze as well) did some gothic calligraphy of our names. here's mine.
