Hey there girls!

kk i'm sorry i haven't updated in a while.. its been crazy here! i have assignments and presentations every week. u noe i'm the kind that sleeps before 12 rite, but here i stayed up till 330am to do work! i can't believe i did that too. but there is seriously a lot of work!

but schoolwork aside, i've managed to go on my first holiday trip! my friends and i went to Guadalajara which is south of where i'm at. its a very colonial city, very beautiful.. i felt like i was in spain!

then at night we went to a gay club! seriously it was a very....interestig experience :P there were like guys kissing each other on the dance floor. i did not look at them. then there were bapoks there also! in the toilet one bapok was adjusting her bra and watever she used to fill it wif.. then i was thinking to myself.. hah! mine are REAL k.. haha..

the weather here is like super fickle.. hot one day like singapore then the next day so cold like today.. so yea.. but not humid so one thing i'm not missing abt singapore is the weather :D

otherwise i miss the company of friends in singapore *hint* food not yet.. but i dun wanna think abt it yet haha..

no one outside the school studies English. (my sch name is called Technologico de Monterrey, btw. Tec for short). so i have to learn spanish. so far i'm still bad but learning constantly. everything's in spanish and very very very few people speak english. so no choice. i'm staying with this mexican lady in her house as part of the Host family programme so i practice my spanish with her. she's very patient with me, and she always corrects me :D

oh i also went on another trip to Veracruz, which is another city in Mexico, during the CNY weekend to attend this carnival. the carnival is meant to celebrate the city's history and its like one of the biggest carnivals in mexico. well, there sure were a lot of people!! it was so crowded, almost as bad as chinatown during chinese new year. literally had to squeeze my way through. then like the whole town was kinda dirty and grey, but the costumes of the carnival performers were so colourful! there were many colours and loud sounds and music to dance to! people who were watching the parade just randomly started dancing with each other. heh latin american culture is like that. they really love to party these people. not my kinda thing but i love soaking in the culture. it was fun!




especially when i went to this salsa concert after the carnival! i went with these 2 french girls, one of them is my classmate and a good friend and the other girl is her roommate. it was fun! a friend of one of the mexican guys from my school who came along with us on the trip taught me basic salsa footwork! haha it was quite fun. i am not a big fan of dancing but it was fun being able to take part in the culture! i was seriously soaking it in. all the songs were in spanish and i didn't understand a word but the rhythm was very nice. :D




then during the carnival, it was basically like chingay. but bigger and better. there were so many floats and also lots of girls wif big boobs. and they were selling beer like free like that. 1 litre jug of beer was like 12 pesos, which is about $1.50 sing dollars! seriously. got quite a few drunk people. so the carnival had beer and girls wif large assets. i have no idea what was in it for the girls in the carnival! a lot of the drunk audience members tried to get too friendly wif the female performers who were skimpily dressed. poor girls! and idiotic guys! i dunno how the girls stand it seriously. i remember seeing one female performer being swamped by a huge group of guys. luckily her fellow male performer was there to push away all the guys. but some of the performers were drunk too! for the first time in my life, someone squirted beer at me! really!! there was this drunk guy who was holding out a gatorade bottle. he pointed it at me and her squirted! i was expecting gatorade to hit my face but it was BEER!!! i was stunned for 10 seconds. like i really didn't speak. i was so annoyed. it totally spoiled my evening. i would not have minded much it was water or smth but BEER!?!??! my clothes smelled like beer can. so annoying. but afterwards i didn't think abt it and it was better.



i went with the veracruz students organisation in the sch, but the trip was not that well organised. we were supposed to go visit an aquarium but we didn't because we didn't reach it in time! we were late! the girl bringing us around didn't really plan properly, and the aquarium had closed because it was too crowded inside! we were all very disappointed. and we found out later that there was actually an amusement park open and we could have gone there when the aquarium was closed!! instead the organiser brought us to a MALL!!! diaos. so this trip was not fun, but it was more culturally enjoyable.

so yup that was my chinese new year weekend. hehehe.

oh azz u will be so proud of me, i've been cooking a lot! coz my friends and i have been organising a lot of parties for international friends and ourselves so we've been cooking! i've been frying a lot of stuff hehe and helping to cook! recently we had a cny celebration by having out own steamboat! so we prepared the food ourselves. i made chinese dumplings!! it was os totally awesome. i thinking making your own food for cny makes the food taste even better and the occasion really even more special.

then about 1 month and a half ago we decided to host this thing called Asian cookout where our friends from hong kong, korea, japan, and the singporeans each cooked a dish from our own countries. did u see my facebook photos? haha it was SO AWESOME! we had authentic food from those cultures. it was so cute everyone cooking the food from their own country. i had authentic kimchii soup, and the ppl from hk cooked this awesome fried beef which i didn't eat coz i dun eat beef but everyone else loved it, we also had scrambled egg foo yong from my friend who's indonesian and he tried cooking egg foo yong but he couldn't get the shape so it became scrambled egg foo yong (its supposed to look like an omelette but he ended mashing everything up hehe). then we also had some korean bbq food, and my friend from japan makde tako yaki!!!!!!! it was delicious. and the contribution from singapore: curry chicken and bak kut teh (pork stew). how did we make this u ask? hahahaah some of the singaporeans brought the curry chicken mix and bat kut teh flavouring over! so we were like.. its heaven!!! we invited some friends from Peru and we taught everyone how to dip bread into the curry chicken sauce! the koreans loved it. it was so fun!

then about 2 weeks ago our korean friends invited us over to their house to cook korean foood for us. u girls will be so jealous. i had real bibimbap and kimchii and fried fish that was awesome, and korean street food and chicken wings... it was so yummy. then i learnt to play stop go.. this korean card game u see in the korean movies? the little red cards wif pictures on them? i know how to play it hahahahaha! its like poker but wif more pictures. but otherwise fun! i won 10 pesos that night which is about $1.20 sing dollars. haha.

nowadays i'm not travelling as much because i will be going to the beach areas for my spring break (which is like recess week)!! i'm going to Playa del Carmen, Chichen Itza (one of the new 7 wonders of the world :D), Cozumel and Tulum (ancient Mayan site). Playa del Carmen is super beautiful i'lll take many pics! and Cozumel is where i can do scuba diving and snorkelling! i can't wait!! and of course i'm looking fwd to the ancient mayan sites!!!!! u noe me and ruins :D i'm getting exciting thinking abt it :P

otherwise, nowadays i'm just doing my homework and watching videos hehehe..

oh and i've been doing some mountain climbing! shaz u are proud of me rite? :D the view from e top is beautiful only in some places, coz in others u look down at the city and u can see e air pollution :P but otherwise it feels great to look up at the mountain and say that u climbed up there! i went rappelling the first time. super scary but afterwards i'm glad i did it. my fav part was the climbing up the rocks! and the hiking was tiring! a lot of steep slopes.





okok girls i gotta get back to my marketing assignment. groan.
